Biography

Blake Burns was originally drawn to criminal defense because he enjoys the uphill battle of defending an American citizen against the government. Blake was fortunate enough to be able to practice under the direction of his father Danny Burns for over a decade before his retirement.

During that time Blake was exposed to all facets of criminal defense. He was able to get first-hand experience in cases ranging from traffic tickets to successful appeals for people wrongfully convicted of murder. This vast experience under his father prepared him greatly for when he branched out on his own.

Blake graduated Texas Wesleyan School of Law in 2008 and immediately started his own practice. Blake has never in his life worked for a prosecutor’s office because he is dedicated to the defense of those accused of a crime. As a result of his years of experience defending the Texas accused, Attorney Blake Burns was certified as a criminal law specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2017.

The clients that work well with Blake are the clients who want an extremely honest, straightforward discussion and aren’t afraid to confront the strengths AND the weaknesses of the case. The attorney representing you needs to be prepared to address both in court. Burns & Davis can’t do our best for the client without the client working with us.

Besides being an excellent defense attorney, Blake Burns is an accomplished runner. Blake was an All American at Tarleton State University in the 4x400m relay in 2005 and continues to run to this day. When Blake is not at work he enjoys cooking, hunting, and spending time with my dog.
